Mrs. Jayne Talbott Jones, 74, of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024 at home.

Mrs. Jones was born August, 28,1949 in Columbus Ohio to the late William Talbott and Ruth Talbott. She resided in Ohio until she relocated her family to Florida and began a lifelong career in Real Estate. She loved everything about the housing market, she had a true love for people, and with her outgoing personality, she propelled herself into a successful career.

She relocated to North Carolina and fell in love with the area. She continued to excel in real estate and perfect her career in the North Carolina market. She eventually met the love of her life and decided to relocate to Lake Wylie, South Carolina, and they have been there ever since. Two families were joined and became one.

She and Kent had an absolute love of the Smoky Mountains and Jayne’s children were down in Florida, so they shared their time between the two places when they weren’t at home in South Carolina. After retirement, they were able to spend much more time in each location, and Jayne loved the freedom that retirement afforded her. Priorities shifted and children, grandchildren, and service to church became top priority.

Jayne was very involved at The Community Church of Lake Wylie and spent three years donating her service on the church council. Her church and church family was a very important part of her life. She was very grateful for the love, support, and friendships.

Her grandchildren’s school functions, athletic programs, and school achievement functions were important to her, and she tried to be present for all of the kids. She was beside herself with joy when two were granted entrance into colleges next year. She was so proud of them.

These words written here can never convey what Jayne meant to her family, friends, coworkers, and church family. All who knew her, loved her. She would brighten any room she entered, and we all loved her. The world will be a little less cheerful without her in it. Her absence will be felt by all who loved her.

Survivors are her husband, Harry Kent Jones; daughter Julie Young Casalaspro (Tony) of Tampa, FL; son Robert Lee Young of Zephyrhills, FL; step-son Michael Collins Jones (Kristen) of Charlotte, NC; son Perrin Wayne Jones ( Laura ); son Vernon Kent Jones, and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024 at The Community Church of Lake Wylie with the Reverend Bob Jack officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church’s Narthex.
